About
I am Colton Harmon; I graduated from the University of North Texas with a BFA in Studio Art with a concentration in sculpture and a minor in music. I live in the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex with the support of my loving wife, family, friends, and my French bulldogs. Art is a part of my everyday life and by making things from my imagination come to life my art is given its own unique style.
When it comes to making art, I enjoy finding ways of producing pieces in an improvisational manner and allowing my ideas to develop and flow without restraint. I enjoy the process of bronze casting, because I feel there is a sense of freedom within the materials utilized in creating an object, paired with the element of chance, and the idea of destroying an object in order to create another. I am concurrently exploring different methods of producing artwork without directly involving my body, and emphasizing the bodies/objects interaction with space.
I use art as a means of investigation into the subjects that interest me, including music, architecture, and anatomy. Additionally, I facilitate my art to better understand events and circumstances that I experience continually in my daily life. It is through exploring the relationships between the subjects I am investigating that I gain a better understanding of what goes on in my world. I hope that you get a chance to check out the rest of my site and see what sparks your imagination!
